BAAA, MOOO--BELLA AND THE BABY ANIMALS!

Bella had a very exciting morning! We drove to Thanksgiving Point (Lehi, Utah) to take Bella to a baby animal petting zoo and to walk through the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point's gardens. When we first arrived, Bella was a little apprehensive about getting too close to the animals. In fact, the cows scared her and made her cry, but by the time we were leaving she was walking to and trying to grab these same cows! Her favorite animals were the baby sheep, which baaed quite loudly. It was funny because after petting the baby sheep for a while, Bella was baaing as loudly as they were. She even helped mommy feed the sheep some corn! A little later in the morning when she was looking at some baby goats she took the feeding into her own hands and fed them herself. She thought it was so funny that the goats would take the corn out of her hand. She also saw baby cows (she mooed at them), baby pigs (they smelled), chickens (she tried to make a chicken noise, but that was hard), and a lot of full sized animals. Her favorite adult animal was Dolly Llama (we thought it was a funny name). While I was holding her, she was practically trying to jump out of my arms to grab the llama and was laughing hysterically. She also got to hold a baby goat like a stuffy and if you know how much she likes stuffies you'll understand how much she loved holding the baby goat.

The highlight of the baby animal petting zoo was Bella's pony ride. We were a little nervous that she wouldn't like sitting on the Pony, but from the moment Mommy put her on the pony until the ride was over, she had so much fun. It was cute because she was grabbing the horn on the saddle as tightly as she could so she wouldn't fall off. We were disappointed the line was so long for the rides because it would have been fun for her to ride again.

After the baby animals, we went to the tulip festival. There were so many beautiful tulips everywhere at Thanksgiving Point! We got some of the cutest shots of Bella in the tulips and trying to smell them. Mommy really enjoyed walking around the Gardens and looking at all of the flowers and we decided that we wished we had somewhere to plant a pretty garden (although we're not sure that if we a place to plant flowers they would be as pretty as these--Vegas probably isn't as conducive to beautiful gardens). Bella also had fun because there was a lot of grass and open space for her to run--basically she just loves being outside and playing. All in all it was a very fun morning--Bella was exhausted by the time we finally made it back to Provo.

BYU AND FRIENDS

Today was a lot of fun!! We woke up this morning and decided to walk around the BYU campus. It was really crowded due to graduation but it was fun to be out and about in all the bussle! We walked around the WILK and got some cute new board books for Isabella and also went to look at all the new remolded buildings. Ha ha...they have redone almost every building there. The campus just looked so beautiful. Isabella loved all the tulips in fact as we walked by them she would call them "pretties." We found a tulip planter and we put her in it...lets just say she was fascinated to be so close to the "pretties." Ha ha. We can't wait to take her to the Tulip festival tomorrow! Anyways...we also ran into a few old friends while on campus...it was just really fun. We even ate at the cougareat with our friend Katie Hoshino! Good times!
After lunch Bella took a much needed nap and then we were off to visit some more friends! The Glasses!! Wendy and I taught at Bonneville elementary for two years and became really good friends! In fact I absolutely LOVE Wendy and her beautiful condo! Seriously it is gorgeous. Wendy has FABULOUS decorating and organizing skills! I really wish I lived next door to her!! Ha ha...if only if only! Ohh...and it was Wendy's birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDY GLASS! 27 years old today! Isabella had fun playing with Wendy's books and stuffed animals. She really loved a little long armed monkey that she could wear around her neck! HA HA.

DINNER AT CAMI AND PAUL'S

After our excitement with the Vice President's motorcade we went over to Cami and Paul's apartment for dinner. They hadn't seen Bella in a couple of months and had never seen her walk on her own so they were pretty impressed as she ran around their living room. She really put on a good show as she played games with them, laughed a ton, and ate Cami's excellent lasagna. It was fun to spend some time with them and enjoy a great homecooked meal--thanks guys!!

VICE PRESIDENT'S MOTORCADE

Today we were in American Fork looking around in a cute little baby store. We were amazed at how nice of a day it was and decided to (surprise, surprise) bust out the camera and take some pictures of Bella! We found this pretty little spot with trees and bushes and a rock for her to sit on. She was loving the attention and took some adorable pictures!
About 3:00 we decided it was time to head back to Provo, so we took toward I-15. As we approached the onramp, we noticed there were quite a few policemen around--not just your normal two or three talking on the side of the road, but about 6 different cars right there on the onramp and on the overpass. It looked like one of the cop cars was going to cut us off and not let us on the freeway, but he motioned for us to to get on and then blocked the onramp behind us. We thought that was really strange and were wondering what was going on and then it dawned on us--Vice President Cheney was speaking at BYU at 4:00 and his motorcade was probably on I-15 somewhere on his way to Provo! We got excited, moved into the right lane and slowed down hoping we could see his motorcade on the freeway, but we were a little too far ahead of him for that. It was really interesting because as we passed every onramp onto I-15 South, police had them blocked off and on every overpass there were anti-sniper policemen on foot patrolling the overpass. It seemed like every cop in Utah County was on duty. We knew the motorcade would exit on University Parkway, so we took that exit planning to stop and wait to see the Vice President pass. The sight on University was just as crazy as it was on I-15. There were police everywhere and they had every street intersection and parking lot entrance blocked off so that no one could get on or off of University Parkway. Luckily there was a gap in the baracade near the Golden Corral so we got off University and pulled into the parking lot. Bella must have known something exciting was going on because this whole time she was just laughing and talking in her carseat (the pictures are her during our motorcade excapade). Anyway, we got out of the car and proceeded to wait for the motorcade to pass. It was funny how many people were out and waiting for a glimpse. The east bound side of University Parkway was completely empty and the lights were green all the way to BYU. After about 10 minutes of waiting the motorcade finally arrived. It was preceded by about 30 highway patrolmen on motorcycles and then came the black SUVs, limos, vans, etc. They passed by pretty quickly, but we know Vice President Cheney was in there, as well as President Hinckley--we couldn't see them, but it was very exciting. Ok, so we're lame, but it was fun!

NOORDA CONDO

We have had a lot of fun hanging out in Provo and spending time at the Noorda Condo! We just love being able to escape the heat and visit the place where it all started...AAAWWHHH! Isabella has had a lot of fun playing in the grass outside and sitting in the big huge love sac! She has also been sporting some amazing new hairdoos! HA HA. In order to keep the hair out of her face at night we put it into a little ponytail...sometimes these ponytail take on a life of their own! Ha ha.

KAYSVILLE TRIP

During our little Utah trip we also went to visit Stacie's grandparents in Kaysville. It was really fun to see Grandpa and Grandma Heaps, a.k.a. Great Grandpa and Grandma, a.k.a. GG and GGP!! Ha ha. Bella had fun showing off her new walking/running skills, going out to lunch with grandma, and showing her ball skills to grandpa. Bella also had her first year pictures taken but, like most kids when you pay money to get their pictures taken, she wouldn't smile! We think the photographer got some cute shots anyways...ha ha. We actually can't wait to see them but we know that we will have to be selective in choosing our favorites...we just found out how PRICEY photographers can be! Ha ha. It was a great day.

RICHFIELD TRIP

Since Nate has some time off from school we decided to make a Utah trip! The first stop on our trip was in Richfield to see Nate's grandparents. Bella had a wonderful time visiting both her Great-Grandma and Grandpa Hawley and Great-Grandma and Grandpa Magleby. She enjoyed running through their houses, smiling/laughing with them, and of course showing off all of her new tricks (like calling flowers "pretties", quacking like a duck, and standing up on her own). She especially loved sitting on Great-Grandpa Hawley's lap, eating Great-Grandma Hawley's pancakes and Great-Grandpa Magleby's ham, and playing on the floor at Great-Grandma Magleby's house. She's a lucky little girl to be able to get to know ALL of her great-grandparents and spend time with them. Next stop Provo and then Kayesville to see Great-Grandma and Grandpa Heaps.

SWIMMING WITH DADDY

Bella loves to swim...but she loves to swim with daddy even more!! Nate throws her up in the air and catches her just as she touches the water. I think it takes her breath away...but she loves it! She is constantly reaching for him in the pool so that he can throw her up and down. She is quite the little daddy's girl...in the pool at least! Ha ha.

CHEESE PUFFS

Isabella has a new favorite treat! CHEESE PUFFS!! Ha ha. We bought these gerber graduate cheese puffs at the store hoping that she would eat them...and holy cow! The girl loves them! Everytime we give them to her she gets a big smile. In fact she loves them so much that she has figured out how to open the package! She uses her teeth to get the top off and then she peels back the paper seal and chows down! Ha ha. Oh and just for your information...DADDY DID HER HAIR! Stylish huh!?

SWIMMING FISH

Today Isabella went swimming for the first time this year! Hooray the summer has arrived!! We put on her cute little swimming suit, lathered her up with sunscreen and headed for the pool! Bella was quite the fish! The minute she saw the water she wanted to get in. She loved kicking her feet in the water and using her little springfloat floatie. She even had fun watching her little friend, Zoe, jump in and out of the pool! Ha ha. We are sure that Bella is going to want to go to the pool everyday now!!
