Grandma Hawley

GRANDMA HAWLEY came to visit!!! Hooray!

As I'm sure you can guess, the girls were beyond excited. Living in Kentucky means we don't see everyone quite as much as we used to, but it also means that when we do get visitors, it's that much more exciting! Most of the time, the girls like hanging out with me - I'm asked, or begged is probably a better word, to come and play, but with grandma around I'm definitely second fiddle. In fact, I tried to go into the playroom and join the fun and was summarily told by Sophie that they didn't need me because grandma was there. Then later that day we were out playing when Sophie took a little fall and started crying - well she flew right by me and into grandma's arms! What a silly girl - mom is good, but grandma is better! Ha ha.





One of our many conference activities. Bella was so excited to color this "string of prophets." The things we do to get them involved in Conference!



Since we couldn't get conference on the TV, we all huddled around the computer screen to watch. Notice the picture of President Monson sitting in front of Bella - she took it upon herself to find the picture of each speaker and set it up so that we'd all know who it was. She was pretty proud of her contribution!



If only they could have sat like this for all of the sessions - looking forward to reading the talks we missed when my angels weren't being quite so angelic.



As with most Grandma Hawley visits, we had a project to complete while she was here. Ever since we moved Sophie into a big girl bed and into Bella's room, I've been looking for a bedskirt for her bed. You'd think it would be easy to find an affordable, attractive bedskirt to match their bedding - yeah, not so much. After looking high and low, and having no success, I asked Grandma about making a couple of bedskirts. Even though it turned out to be quite the project, when we were all finished, they looked great! Thanks Shelly!



Not a novel sight in our house - princesses fluttering about. I love my girls - they are so cute!

Disney Princess on ICE

The magic, the splendor, the romance, the PRINCESSES!! When we heard Disney Princess on Ice was making a stop in Lexington, we knew we had to go. With two royal darlings who adore Disney Princesses - was there really even a choice? We anxiously awaited the day tickets would go on sale and gathered up the girls' princess friends to join us! When we went to get all the tickets we purchased TWENTY TWO!! Ha ha. Talk about a good time! The girls worked extra hard on their "cheerful charts" (post about them - to come soon) in order to earn this fun time - and luckily, completed them just in time!



When the big day came - we got all dolled up! This was actually kind of fun for me because I got to play with Bella's beautiful locks! Can we say dream hair! Long, thick, soft, easy to curl. Geez - is it silly to be jealous of your own daughter's hair?! Cause I am. Just sayin. We did a regal updo and she really looked amazing! She pranced around and actually asked me to take pictures. So fun! Sophie even got in on the hair action and let me use hairspray. Ha ha.



After getting all ready we were set to go! We hopped into our royal carriage and away we went. Upon arriving and seeing other girls in their formal attire - my princesses got even more excited. (Little disclaimer - the following pictures were taken with the already returned horrible point and shoot I used to own - and I'm happy to say - these are the last of the pictures taken with it. Good ridance. Ha ha.)




Then when we found our princess friends and their families - the excitement almost exploded! All girls talked and danced and giggled - all dressed up and pretty! It was too cute for words! And we had the best seats too! (Did I mention that we got all the tickets 50% off?!! Yep!! Heather found a way - purchasing packages of kraft american singles that had coupons on the wrappers - so we all bought cheese and I took all the packages to the ticket office. Feels good to have such fabulous seats - for such a good price! Thanks Heather!)




When the performance started the girls were so happy! Bella was in awe.



Braelyn, bless her heart, actually cried tears of joy. (How darling is that - totally made my night!)

And of course, my coy little Bella covers her eyes (but still looks) during the really romantic parts. Ha ha. Makes me laugh everytime.

Sophie and Boober

Today as I was going through our pictures for March - I came across these little gems.

Sophie and Boober. Best buds. Well at least she thinks so. It's funny how much this poor little cat can take. He gets poked, prodded, carried, nudged, sat on, squeezed, pulled, loved...

And he seems to take it all in stride - never lashing out or hissing. Such a good cat. That is until he peed on my pottery barn chair. Um. Not. Very. Nice. Mr. Cat.

So - he was ousted. Our indoor cat has now become an outdoor cat. Luckily, he doesn't seem to mind, too much. At least he can escape his best bud with more ease now. Ha ha.






This picture is my favorite. Check out Boober's face. Ha ha. It's like he's trying to go to his happy place. "Maybe if I sit real still and close my eyes - she'll go away. Just maybe."

Panda Express

Bella got this fun little package in the mail the other day.

And she swooned. Literally.

After finding the package addressed to her, she ran inside - a girl on a mission - desperate to find something to open up her newly discovered treasure. Scissors were her weapon of choice and she went at it. Finally getting it open, she marveled at the contents. As if she were pulling out her red rider BB gun - she gasped...

"PANDA EXPRESS!!!!"

Oh the joy. And then she jumped. For about an hour.

You see - our little Bella has an affinity for Panda Express Orange Chicken. She loves the stuff. Unfortunately Kentucky does NOT have a Panda Express.

Fortunately - Bella has an amazing uncle and aunt (Chris and Ren - WE HEART YOU) - that realized this poor girl was in need of some major Orange Pow. So they sent - as a surprise - some PANDA EXPRESS ORANGE SAUCE complete with a package of fortune cookies. So sweet, huh?!

Needless to say - we made orange chicken.

And. it. was. amazing.

In fact - Bella ate it four days in a row. Thanks you guys - we love you!
