INJECTION PERFECTION

So one of the best things about dental school is that the first time we try anything, we have to do it on each other--this includes injections! Yeah, we're basically guinea pigs, but I guess they figure better to teach us how on each other rather than scaring all of the patients away. In this picture I'm actually holding the syringe--the needle is capped to avoid any unfortunate incidents.
Here I am giving my friend Aaron a "painless" (because I have such soft hands) injection--he doesn't look nervous at all. Actually the whole learning how to give injections has been a lot of fun and not nearly as painful as it may sound.
Now I am the lucky one in the chair. Let's just say that we chose our injection partners with care--I definitely don't want just anyone sticking me with long needles.

MOMMY AND ME SWIMMING

Isabella has made a really good friend! His name is Ethan and they met at Gymboree. Ha ha. They just love playing together since they are only about 15 days apart in age. Tori, Ethan's mommy, and I took the kids to the Henderson Multigenerational Activity Pool and they had so much fun! Everyday from 9-10:30 in the morning it's mommy and me time. So only little kids are allowed. It's great! The water is really shallow and they can walk around in it, splash, and not worry about a big kid coming and knocking them down! Ha ha. I am totally going to take Bella back because she had a blast! While we were there little birds were flying around and the kids thought it was so funny! I caught them both pointing to a bird on this video!! SO FUNNY!! Check it out!

SHOES and a BIG GIRL PONY

Ok...so today Isabella and I did lots of fun girly things! We played with our hair! Isabella did mine...which turned out lovely...so sorry I did not take a picture...but I am sure you can all envision it...a one year old with a brush and mommy's hair. OUCH! Ha ha. Then Mommy did her hair! I tried today to put it in a BIG GIRL PONYTAIL...and...it totally worked! I can't believe that her hair is that long. It actually kind of made me sad...where did my little baby go? She is just growing too fast! AAHHH! So anyways...it was so cute! So of course...I took pictures! Hooray!

After we were all dolled-up we decided to head over to K-Mart. I actually never go to K-Mart...but it was hot today...we had no where to go...and Bella needed to get out...and I wanted to go somewhere new...so K-Mart it was...it is really close to our house too. So anyways...I have to admit I was really quite pleased with our experience. The people were friendly...and we found some cute things. Especially in the shoes department! Ok...everyone with little girls...there are the CUTEST PINK SANDALS ever at K-Mart. Seriously...Bella tried them on and they were just to die for! I am sad to say that I didn't buy them...but I am really tempted to go back! Ha ha. So just for your info...if you need some cute girl shoes...there are some cute pink wedges at K-Mart! Ha ha.

HIDE-AND-SEEK

Isabella just loves to play hide-and-go-seek! She thinks it is the best game ever. All you have to do is run away from her and she comes to find you really quick. You can always tell where she is looking because she is laughing so hard! Her face lights up when she finds you and even though she pretty much knows exactly where to look...she is still surprised when you jump out and say "BOO!" Ha ha...I just thought these pictures were so cute.
She found Mommy!!

Mommy where are you?

She also loves to read books! Too CUTE!! She sits down with her little books and just reads away. The best part...her little toes!! She rubs her toes together as she reads...I LOVE IT! I caught her cute toes in the act the other day! Ha ha.

EMERGENCY ROOM

It has been quite the crazy week! On Wednesday Isabella was just not acting herself. She didn't want to eat, drink, or play which is totally uncharacteristic of her. We put her to bed early hoping that sleep was all she needed. Occasionally we could hear her moan in her sleep...but she usually made noises in her sleep so we didn't think too much of it. Before Nate and I went to bed we checked on her just like we normally do everynight. Well...when we went in there she was really warm...I picked her up and her little head was BURNING HOT!! When I she noticed that we were there she just started crying. Poor little thing...we thought maybe she was having a little fever from teething...since she is getting four molars. So I got her up and held her and gave her some ice water trying to cool her down. We took her temperature and she was 102.4!!! Then all of a sudden she just started to throw up...lots and lots. Nate and I were freaking out!!! It was so scary. She threw up like five times...she just couldn't stop and it was even coming out her nose. She was having a really hard time breathing so we frantically jumped in the car and drove to the hospital. When we got there they quickly got us a room and a nurse...maybe because we smelled and were all covered in vomit...ha ha. Isabella wanted nothing to do with any doctors or nurses. Every time they walked into our room she cried. She ended up having to have a catheter, chest x-rays, and a shot! Plus who really likes having to have your temperature taken three times! When the x-rays came back the doctor said that she had the early stages of pneumonia. Poor baby!! I am just glad we caught it early before it turned into anything serious. Before we could leave the ER...four hours later...Isabella had to drink and keep down like 3 oz. of Gatorade. Yeah try to make your child drink something they don't want or like when they are sick, scared and tired. It was quite traumatic. Ha ha. Eventually we had to syringe it into her mouth amidst her screaming. Then finally we were able to go home with prescriptions and a very exhausted baby. Let me tell you Nate and I were completely emotionally drained. Ha ha. It was definitely an experience we never want to relive!! Isabella is doing a lot better...she is running around the house and tackling the cat...defintiely back to her old self!! We have a follow-up check-up scheduled for today...Ha ha...I am sure she will pass through it with flying colors. It is better to be safe then sorry right? We are just so happy she is feeling better! WE LOVE HER SO MUCH!!

Isabella and her kitty...BEST BUDDIES!!! They both sat on the chair and watched TV together. How cute!! Ha ha...he is such a good cat!

GOING TO THE LAKE

Our family loves going to the lake...especially when lots of people are in town. This past weekend was no exception. With everyone here but Chris...who is coming home this month...woo-hoo...we all went to the lake! It was a lot of fun watching everyone wake board and ski. Isabella even got to feed a little family of ducks that made their way over to our beach! Ha ha...Cami had them eating right out of her hand...brave girl! Isabella had so much fun but was completely worn out on the boat ride back to the dock. I was able to take off her life vest, change her diaper, put clothes on her, and lay her back down, all without her waking up. She was seriously dead to the world...ha ha.

CUTE COUSINS

Nate's Aunt Kym and her family came into town for one day...they were actually spending the fourth of July in Richfield but drove down to here to fly out of the Las Vegas airport back to Minnesota. We were so excited they were in town, so we drove over to the hotel that they were staying at to see them. Aren't these girls just so cute!! Isabella was completely taken with them from the moment we got there! She would just gibber and gabber to them, walked around and gave them each a hugs numerous times, and even took her little stuffed kitty around for them to pet. Ha ha. She just loved them so much! It was great to see the whole family!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY

Happy Birthday America! We just love this country so much and we also love celebrating it with family! This fourth of July we all got together at the Noorda's house and had a big Noorda style celebration! TONS of food, swimming, friends and family, little kids, and FIREWORKS! It was a lot of fun! Isabella loved all the food...of course...let me tell you...this little girl is quite the tank! She also loved swimming with all my little cousins. The big guys decided to have a belly flop contest and as each person would jump in Isabella would clap for them! It was really funny. Ha ha. The fireworks were great; however, I am not sure how much she liked those. The ones that made the loud screeching noises kind of scared her...but she was quite the trooper and watched almost all of them! Happy FOURTH!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY

Happy Birthday Daddy!! We had a fun weekend celebrating Nate's 26th birthday! Whoo-hooo!! Another year older! Ha ha. Bella wore her special "I LOVE DAD" shirt just for the occasion! I took some really cute pictures of her right outside of our apartment. She had a lot of fun playing in the patch of flowers. "Pretties" as she calls them!
This was the one and only time she took her eyes off the flowers...I am so glad I actually caught it with the camera!

Smelling the pretty flowers! YUMMY!

Look Mom...PRETTIES!!

We also decorated the house with balloons and a "Happy Birthday" sign! Surprise!!!

Nate was excited to see all the decorations when he got home from school. Bella was just excited to play with the balloons!

Daddy and his presents! Bella picked out his card...and as with all things she picks out it had an animal on the front!

She was really excited about the presents...in fact as we wrapped them she wanted to sit on top...yes...it took us forever to get the presents wrapped.

For Nate's birthday I surprised him with a fun night out...without Bella. She went to grandma's for the evening! We went to this fun pottery place where we painted a chips and dip plate...Nate had some great ideas and in no time we had made it into a BYU chips and dip plate! Football parties here we come! Go cougars! We also went to one of Nate's favorite restaurants! The Claim Jumper! The food was excellent and to make it even better...FREE!! Nate had won a gift card to the Claim Jumper so we were so excited!! After dinner we went to a movie...ha ha...those of you who have kids know...going to a movie is a rare occurrence! We saw Ocean's Thirteen and we both really liked it!!

On Sunday was had dinner with the family, opened presents, and had cake and ice cream! Yummy!! Bella was really fascinated by the candles...she even actually ate a little bit of cake.

All-in-all it was a great weekend!! Happy Birthday Nate!
