My little Treky?

So...just had to post these pics. Not sure if that is the right verbiage. Treky? Anyways. Nate was dying to see Star Trek. I surprised him with a date night. It was fun...and actually...I kinda liked the movie to. Live Well and PROSPER!

Pretty Hair

It's amazing what a little pretty hair can do. This morning Bella woke up and wanted pretty hair. I wasn't sure if I could deliver...

But we ended up with something a little like this. Cute. Spunky. And totally...

A GUY MAGNET. Who knew.

UNLV Dental Simulation Course

It’s that time of year again—Nate—running the Dental School Simulation Course he started three years ago(it still amazes us that when he came up with the idea as a first year student, the school actually went along with it).

Being the third time around, we’ve got it down to a science and it’s nice because a few of the 1st and 2nd year students played a big part in getting it organized this year (good thing too because this may be Nate’s last course since he’s graduating next year—unless they decide to keep him around UNLV for Ortho!).

Between last weekend’s course and the one we have coming up in June, more than 150 undergraduate students from about 30 universities will participate in this year’s courses.  It is a lot of work, but it’s always fun to see them turn out so well (although I think we’re both ready for a break).

During the two-day course the participants get to wax a tooth, use a drill to cut on plastic teeth, make molds, use amalgam and composite to fill the plastic teeth and much more!  Exciting!

Quick Catch-Up

So we had a busy end of April/beginning of May and I am just now posting about it. This is going to be a HUGE post...ha ha...sorry. But, like many of you, this blogging is my way of scrapbooking so it needs to be done. Here we go...

BYU Graduation:
My brother-in-law, Paul, graduated from BYU! Congrats! Another member of the family has blue blood! Ha ha. The girls and I went up Utah to celebrate the occasion - but - unfortunately we weren't able to make it to ANY of the graduation. Ha ha. We didn't even step foot on BYU campus (I'll explain later).
Hogle Zoo:
While we were up in Utah we went to the ZOO with Julie and Tayla. I love Hogle Zoo. It is the perfect size...not too big and not too little so you can make it around to all the animals before the kids get too tired, and you can't beat the price either! SCORE!

Bella had a blast--her favorite animals were the black bears. They were devouring oranges when we stopped by their habitat and Bella thought it was the coolest thing. We also rode the merry-go-round which Bella and Tayla loved--poor Sophie not so much. Ha ha. After we had seen all the animals, we went and rode the little train. Bella was so excited--as witnessed by the picture of her riding on it. Pure Joy. Ha ha. It was a fun morning!

Oh...we also met up with one of my dearest teacher friends, Wendy, and her daughter, Addie! We all had lunch together at the zoo. It was so good to see them. Addie has just gotten so big since the last time I saw her! Too cute!

A New Musical - WICKED:
Can I say "wicked" is freaking AWESOME! Seriously! Wicked ROCKS! My parents got the tickets about a year ago...and I feel so privileged to have been able to go! It was...THE BEST...musical I have ever seen! I LOVED IT! I laughed...I cried...I danced! I want to see it again! Thanks Mom and Dad!
Sophie's Mysterious Sickness:
My poor poor baby! This silly girl was crazy sick for the whole month of April. No joke. It all started out with a weird congested cough. She would cough so hard that she couldn't breathe and then throw up. She also had a hard time eating and then developed a VERY high fever. So I took her to the doctor (appt. #1). After the Doctor and Nurse Practitioner checked her over they decided that she had some congestion in her lungs and put her on the nebulizer. We went for a follow-up a few days later (appt. #2) and they concluded that she was STILL congested and gave her a stronger oral steroid.
A few days later we went back to the doctor for another follow-up (appt. #3). At this appointment they determined her "better" and fit for travel. The next day we drove up to Utah for Paul's Graduation. Sophie's cough returned during the drive. The next day when we returned home from the zoo, Sophie's FEVER was BACK! 103! I called my doctor and they told me to go have her seen by someone in Utah. I called up my old doctor, Dr. Berry (appt. #4). Love him. He got me in...and diagnosed Sophie with "bacteria in her lungs." (While we were at the doctor - Paul was graduating. Missed it. Boo.) Dr. Berry prescribed Antibiotics and we headed back to the condo.
After receiving the antibiotics Sophie finally started to feel better -UNTIL - about a week after starting it she broke out into a HUGE RASH covering her entire body. By this time we were back home in Vegas so I called up my doctor again (appt. #5). Funny I only said "My daughter has been sick...with this cough..." and they immediately knew who I was. Ugh. Poor Sophie. This time they said she had a antibiotic allergy...so they took her off the medicine. After that we have been good to go. Thank goodness! Our family sure does not want to see ANY doctor's office for a while!
The Nebulizer.
FEVER GIRL.
Waiting at the doctor's office - (appt. #4)
HUGE RASH!
(appt. #5) - still as happy as ever!
Mother's Day:
Yeah for Mother's! I had a fabulous day - weekend - spent with my cute family! Daddy and the girls let me sleep in on Saturday, and when I woke up they surprised me with some beautiful pink tulips and a special balloon picked out by Bella! The house was even clean - awesome! Thanks guys! On Sunday we had Mother's Day Dinner over at our house! We invited Mom and Dad, and Bryan and Julie, and had a great time. My mom said it was the first Mother's Day that she can remember where she hasn't had to cook. Sweet! Maybe we'll have to do it again next year! Love ya Moms!
Bella's Birthday Day Dinner:
On Bella's birthday we celebrated - again - ha ha because I believe you can't ever celebrate too much! We had Grandma Noorda, GG Noorda, GGP Noorda, Bryan, Julie, and Tayla over to celebrate and it was a lot of fun! Kind of surreal that my child is actually three. AHH! Bella opened her presents - which she loved - blew out candles, and ate cake! Love you Bella! Thanks everyone for coming!

Dance Class:
Here are a few more pics from Bella's Dance Class! She has thoroughly loved it! She had her last class a few weeks ago. We are hoping to start back up again in the fall.

Swimming Lessons:
We have also started swimming lessons. Jenae, a cute girl in my ward, decided to throw a LITTLE class together last minute. We were lucky enough to be able to get to do it. I am hoping Bella will become a water fish after all is said and done. Right now she is a little scared of the deep water - weird - because last year she loved it!
