We had plans today.
We woke up this morning (somewhat lazily, but that's the best way! :)
Ate a quick breakfast.
Got dressed - probably should have showered...but what's another day right?
Opened the door to start the day and found...this.
Snowflakes! And not just any run of the mill snowflakes, but BIG, FLUFFY snowflakes! The kind that seem to glide weightlessly through the air.
So000ooo, needless to say, our plans changed. Who wants to go run errands (milk and bread aren't important anyway) when you can stay home and watch the snow fall, all cozy and warm inside?!
Not little ol' me! Creating our own impromptu snow day, we pulled out the sparkly Valentine stickers and hearts that have been taunting the girls eversince we bought them in the dollar section at Target. Love love LOVE the dollar section. I saved them for just such a day as this.
But before we could start any art projects, there was one thing we had do - DANCE in the snow! I'll let you guess who's idea this was (and I'll give you a hint, her name rhymes with rella - haha, no surprise there - that girl loves to dance, and Sophie's not far behind!).
I promise...they were only out there for two seconds! Ha ha. And check out Bella's shoes - they maybe perfect for a dancing princess, but snow worthy? Not so much...

After our toes were sufficiently frosted, we started in on our sweet little love notes! Shhh...they are supposed to be a surprise! =) The girls dove right in, finding the letters for each special Valentine and excitedly sticking each one to their supposed spot. Adding their own unique flare with hearts and swirly crayon doodles to each masterpiece, they were quite pleased with the results. Such sweet little artists!
Dancing in the snow - check. Awesome valentine craft - check. What could be left for the day? More SNOW! I couldn't believe how fast it came down! Since by this time the girls' toes had completely defrosted, they decided it was time to go to the backyard and check on the cat. You see, Boober was kind of exiled to the great outdoors when he started using our towels as litter boxes so we check on him when the weather gets crazy. He doesn't necessarily get to come inside when its cold out, but he does have a nice warm dog house to keep him safe and dry. So while Bella was checking on the cat, Sophie was doing this...
Yep. That's right, she's eating snow. At least it wasn't yellow! Ha ha.
Check out the snowflakes! Aren't they huge!? You could feast on those babies!
Ready for the warmth again, we came back inside and the girls got right back to business, deciding they weren't quite done with their valentines.
And here are some of the finished product!! Totally cute, right?!
Check your mailboxes in a few days...some love notes are on their way!
