Now that we live in Kentucky, its always a special treat to have guests, especially on Holidays. So when we heard Bryan, Julie, Tayla, and Addison were coming for Easter, we were very excited. Bella and Sophie couldn't wait to have their cousins stay with them and have someone else to play with. While they couldn't stay for long, it was great to have them and we all had a lot of fun.
Artists at work. They had so much fun coloring eggs that I picked up a few extra packs after Easter (you know when they cost about 50 cents) just so we could do it again one day when there's nothing else to do. The girls will love it!

Bella came up with the BYU egg on her own - I wonder how she became such a fan ... hmmm....
We had a really yummy Easter Dinner (BBQ pulled pork, cheese potatoes - wow I'm getting hungry just thinking about it). And of course, you know me, I love decorating for the Holiday, so I found these cute table decorations and plates at Target. I think it turned out darling!
Absolutely love these bunny bowls! The kids thought eating cereal out of a bunny's head was really funny.

Of course even with the fun activities and the cute tablescape, we didn't forget the true meaning of Easter, the resurrection of the Lord. We read the Easter story with the kids the night before and as we sat down to dinner we talked about gifts of Christ's life, death, and resurrection. It amazes how much these sweet little spirits comprehend at such an early age.

Cousins! They love each other - can you tell?
Notice the rainboots - it had been really wet outside so we were wondering if the outdoor egg hunt was going to happen, but luckily it stopped raining (was still misting though) long enough to have the hunt! It was so damp though that all the dye started coming off the eggs - hahahaha. Never saw that in Vegas.
It was hilarious how the girls would run right past eggs that were in front of them because they would fixate on one across the yard that they had to have. Daddy thought it would be fun to hide a couple too high for them to reach, or his personal favorite, inside the box of the outlet.

After the hunt and dinner fun, it was time for dessert! We made some cupcakes then got out all the toppings for the kids to decorate their own. Talk about pastry chefs in the making - they dove right in, knowing exactly what they wanted to do. If you look closely at Tayla's cupcake, you can just make out the frosting underneath all of her marshmellow bunnies.

Here's Sophie eating her frosting again, leaving another topless cupcake in her wake.
Since the weather took a turn for the better and according to the Weather Channel app (one of my favs) we had a couple of hours before the next rain, we decided to take an Easter stroll. We took them out of our neighborhood to Masterson Station Park, a large park right behind us with lots of open space, equine activities, and great walking areas. We found some horses who were very excited to see us and we fed them some carrots. The kids were laughing at how the horse take the carrots from peoples' hands. Then as we walked away we saw the sign. Hahahaha. Ooopppsss.
Before heading home we stopped at one of the big open fields and got out Bryan's kite. This kite was pretty cool because it was virtually indestructable - when the wind would die it would come crashing down with enough force to break most other kites, but not this one. Also it folds up into this tiny little bag so you can take it anywhere. Pretty impressive!
Holding Sophie down so she doesn't fly away. She thought it was cool that she flew it "all by herself".
Such a fun Easter! Thanks for coming guys!
