What a FUN DAY!! Our family just loves celebrating the Fourth of July...in fact it is one of our favorite holidays. It is just so fun to get together with neighbors, friends and family and celebrate our great country!!
This year we went all out with our family festivities!! We went to our community parade - WHICH WAS AWESOME!! Summerlin just has such fun activities!! Nate woke up early to go get us seats...he got to the parade route by six (the parade started at nine) and found that he was the only one there. Ha ha. I guess we are just used to Utah parades where if you are not camped out the night before you don't get seats...well...not here. Nevadans must just be more relaxed...who knows. Most people didn't show up until about 7:30 a.m. We'll remember that for next year. Ha ha. Anyways...we set up our blanket and chairs, had Einsteins bagels for breakfast, and gathered up lots of free goodies before the parade even started.
The parade was actually quite awesome!! It lasted about TWO HOURS and it was full of really cool floats, soaring balloons, cool hot rod cars, high school bands, drum teams, horses, and even ELMO! Ha ha. Bella loved the big eagle balloon and all the princesses!! The Little Mermaid and Belle were there too!! Nate and I decided that it was a lot better then we ever expected - such a fun home town parade!! The only downside - the HEAT - but hey we live in Vegas - heat is to be expected! Ha ha.
After the parade we packed up and came home where Daddy got out his Snow Cone maker and we all had snow cones!! Yum...the perfect ending to the parade! After naps all around we headed over to Grandpa and Grandma Noorda's for swimming, dinner, and fireworks!! Bella was really excited to hold her cousin..which makes me happy...because I think she is going to be the BEST big sister! And...she also got really into the fireworks...after much coaxing and praise! Ha ha. She really liked the "Sparkilies!" So cute!! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the yummy dinner and fireworks show!
And - we are so grateful for this AWESOME COUNTRY!! God Bless the U.S.A.!!!

I am jealous of your awesome parade. Rexburg leaves a little to be desired in that dept. I think next year I will have to travel somewhere else to get a good show. Bella is a doll... as usual!
You guys always look like your are having so much fun. What a great community you live in to provide so many great activities.
